Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP)
The Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) is a community-driven program that helps rural and small communities in Canada attract foreign workers to fill local labour shortages and support long-term population growth.
Under RCIP, participating communities can recommend eligible candidates for permanent residence based on their specific workforce needs.
How It Works
The applicant receives a job offer from an approved employer in a participating rural community
The community reviews the application and issues a recommendation
The applicant applies for permanent residence
A temporary work permit may be available while PR is processed
There is no points-based ranking system.
Basic Eligibility
Requirements vary by community but generally include:
A genuine job offer in a participating community
Relevant work experience or qualifying education
Minimum language proficiency
Proof of settlement funds (if required)
Intention to live long-term in the community
Why Choose RCIP?
No CRS score required
Community-based selection
Less competition than large urban programs
Direct pathway to permanent residence
